Two of those years were dedicated to engaging in political activities, while the remainder were focused on serving Ndi Anambra. Our bond continues to strengthen with each passing day. Soludo's life is filled with impactful moments, inspiring people to create meaningful experiences for others. However, the month of July holds a special place in his heart. July is not only his birth month but also the birth month of his beloved wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo. Additionally, Soludo will be in Lagos this weekend, where his second life in the world of banking is being revisited and reviewed, and his laudable achievements will be celebrated in a book, titled; "The Power of One Man" by Ray Echebiri, PhD. It has been twenty years since the groundbreaking banking consolidation, and the enduring legacy he established during that time continues to be re

On the recently enacted Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission Law and the newly inaugurated Transition Committee Chairmen BY IZUCHUKWU Adichie In Anambra state, the recently inaugurated Transition Committee Chairmen have been tasked with the responsibilities of upholding service delivery, maintaining financial discipline, and demonstrating commitment to their duties. There has been a significant amount of debate regarding why Soludo had not conducted local government elections, with varying opinions from both supporters and opponents of this decision. It is important to recognize that before this administration, the state had not held a proper local government election, and the local government administration was non-operational. Upon Soludo's assuming office, the administration was faced with a neglected local government system, characterized by abandoned headquarters, some overgrown with bushes, others burnt and vandalized, and a backlog of unpaid pensions for retirees.

Governor Soludo swore-in the Chairmen at the Government House, Awka. The Governor congratulated the newly sworn-in Chairmen and commiserated with them largely because of paucity of funds and the humongous responsibilities they are expected to shoulder. "You've now taken your oath of office and oath of allegiance, take the two oaths seriously. "This is a call to service, a call to do something beyond yourself. Know that you are now being called upon to serve public purpose"; the Governor stated. Governor Soludo wondered how people usually misinterpret what public office is all about, and expressed his administration's determination to ensure that every penny will be deployed to serve n

Prof. Soludo's ambitious vision to regenerate the Upper Iweka Area in Onitsha has sparked widespread discussion and debate, particularly within the Greater Onitsha area. This place is home to over 50 parks, markets, shops, street vendors, and unauthorized structures. While Soludo administration has made significant progress in urban renewal for Onitsha, it is clear that further action is needed to transform this metropolitan city, which was previously neglected and in chaos. Reflecting on the ongoing discussion, one can only imagine the big plans Prof. Soludo may have for the area. Knowing him as someone who excels in delivering ambitious projects within challenging timeframes, one can speculate on the ambitious initiatives he may have in mind for the future of Upper Iweka. Prof. Soludo's transformative vision for Upper Iweka began with the eradication of the pre

Soludo's Commitment to Reconstructing Federal Roads in Anamb BY IZUCHUKWU Adichie As long as Soludo continues to serve as the governor of Anambra state, our people who heavily rely on the federal roads that intersect our state can be rest assured that he is committed to alleviating the suffering caused by the poor conditions of these roads. Taking the bull by the horns, his empathy is evident in his determination to improve the dilapidated federal road infrastructure in the state. During the 19th Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) Meeting, a contract was awarded to Guxon Construction Company NIG LTD for the construction of culverts along the UmuezeAnam - Umudora - Oromaetiti - Umueze - Nzam, along with palliative works at the adjoining roads. This decision was made after a thorough review of a memo presented by the Anambra Road Maintenance Agency (ARMA). Of particular note is Soludo's emotional speeches and constant empathy shown while replaying videos showcasing the cha

Twenty years later, the world still celebrates Soludo's banking consolidation BY IZUCHUKWU Adichie 20 years since Soludo's Banking Consolidation, it has been a milestone that continues to be celebrated. During his tenure as the governor of CBN in 2004, Soludo achieved the seemingly impossible that cost Nigeria nothing. Despite facing nineteen written (19) threats even an attempted kidnapping of his children, he successfully oversaw the consolidation of banks, reduced their number and significantly increased and built their capital base from $15 million to $200 million within 18 months. This move transformed the Nigerian banking sector, propelling 14 Nigerian banks into the top 1,000 and three into the top 300 banks in the world within just three years. As a result, Nigerian banks gained the capability to compete with major international businesses, facilitating large-scale investments that were previously inconceivable. Soludo's exceptional leadership as CBN governor earne
