 APGA Congress: Ibezim Assures of Transparency

The Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has assured Awka South All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Members of transparent congress, which will be conducted with strict adherence to the party guidelines.

Dr Ibezim, gave this assurance during a  meeting of APGA Awka South stakeholders, at Trig Point Hotel, Nibo, on Sunday May 14, 2023.

Mr Deputy Governor, while assuring of transparent congress, noted that the party is  looking for capable hands who can manage the party effectively in the face of challenges confronting it, clarifying that, APGA executive offices are not for settlement of long serving members, rather for quality party men and women with different thinking that can win new members for the party.

He insisted that the state government is deploying its lean resources in building roads and other critical infrastructures,  which will benefit not just party members but Ndi Anambra in general, hence APGA needs capable hands to run its affairs without depending on state government for funds.

Hon. Chukwuma Okoye

The  member, representing Awka South state constituent II, in Anambra House of Assembly, Hon Chukwuma Okoye promised  peaceful Congress, which will be rancor free, he assured that APGA will withstand any challenges from the opposition parties in the state, if it gets the congress right.


In his speech, the Chairman of the Awka South Congress Committee, Hon.Obi Nwankwo appealed to the stakeholders not to create factions in the party, charging them to go to the their various wards to conduct meeting of executives and stakeholders for the congress, promising they will set up five man committee to assist wards that may find it difficult to reach consensus.


He suggested that some positions should be reserved for growing number of non-indigens APGA men and women for harmony and equity in the party.

Hon Omerigwe Elee

Contributing, the state Vice Chairman of APGA, Hon. Omerigwe Elee stated that the stakeholders should work with ward chairmen, that each should carry the other along, assuring that the congress will be transparent, he described the forthcoming executives as people that will inherit the challenges faced by the party hence the needs to elect the best hands.
