 AUGUST MEETING: Hon. Amaka Obi Urges Women To Share Ideas, Embrace Healthy Living.


The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Idemili) has urged women to share ideas in this period of August meeting and embrace healthy living.

Hon. Amaka Obi made the statement when she joined umu nwanyi Oraukwu and Akwukwu during their annual August meeting.

She aforementioned that women should always be courageous and speak up on issues affecting them, embrace healthy living, and proper upbringing of children, stating that drug abuse and illicit drug use, especially among youths is alarming and called for concerted effort to stop the menace.


Council boss stated that illicit drugs is dangerous to health and can mar the future of our youths, affirming that self control is the best way to stay out of drugs.



She said, drug trafficking and illicit drug use are becoming menace in the country and urged women to do their best in making sure that their children are raised in a dialogic way, by creating time to dialogue with their children, as they may be dealing with alot of peer pressure and want to feel among.


Hon. Obi went on to speak about healthy living, good nutrition, environmental cleanliness, basic life skills and sound morals championed by Dr. Mrs Nonye Soludo.


She urged women to embrace healthy living by avoiding chemicalised food which is dangerous to the organs, noting that our local food remain the best.


Earlier on, the patron of St Gabriel Zone, Obi Chukwuemekalum Udodeme(Obi Adama 2) encouraged the women to be steadfast and not to be deterred rather be courageous, affirming that the storm will be over soon.


In their separate remarks,  the chairperson of St Mary's Catholic Church, Oraukwu, Mrs Uchegbu Nkiru lauded Hon. Amaka Obi for her giant stride in Idemili South, stating that the council area have never experience such massive infrastructural development. 

On her part, the secretary of St Gabriel Zone, Mrs Ebele Udodeme said that Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi is taking a cue from Governor Charles Soludo in infrastructural development.


Mrs Ebele Udodeme while giving vote of thanks commended Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi for taking time out of her busy schedule to attend the meeting, saying that they will continue to support Anambra State Government ably led by Professor Charles Soludo.
