The Score Card:

The Solution agenda of Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo's Administration was today birthed in Dunukofia, one year ago. My appointment as the Transition Committee Chairman of Dunukofia Local Government Area,that of the 14 Councillors plus two others from the 14 Political Wards in Dunukofia Local Government Areas was a confirmation of the Solution Apostles. We are proudly called Dunukofia Solution Team.

The journey so far has been full of challenges and positive results. We recall that after our confirmation by the Anambra State House of Assembly. Mr Governor swore us in on the 2nd of August 2022, marking the beginning of a new dawn in Dunukofia.

Like Mr. Governor would say: "He applied for the job and he was employed by Ndi Anambra." I applied when the Chairmanship position was micro-zoned to Nawgu, for no Nawgu citizen has ever served as the Chairman of the Local Government since inception in 1996 and against all odds amongst the applicants, I was employed by my Principal and through transparent process at the Ward level my Team members were elected, we were sent to Ndi Dunukofia.

The Goals:

On resumption of office,  through our developmental strategy created Joint Action On Dunukofia Integrated Development (JASDID) through which we would pilot the affairs of Dunukofia in line with Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo's agenda for a livable and prosperous homeland for Ndi Anambra, in Anambra State and beyond. 

Under JASDID, Ndi Dunukofia witnessed a transformational achievement in—

Education: Upon assumption to office, we had interventions in educational development of our people, at the dilapidated state of Community Secondary school, Ukpo, we replaced most of their laboratory equipments that were carted away by criminals who broke into the lab and, an ongoing process is on to renovate some of the class rooms with leaking roofs. In order to prepare our children for tomorrow as our future leaders, we must revive books reading and techniques, hence, bringing the Solution Agenda to the young people of Dunukofia LGA we are determined to go back to those things that adds value to the society, therefore we are bringing Dunukofia literary Rebirth initiative soon.

Agriculture: The agricultural revolution of the Soludo administration was first birthed in Nawgu, Dunukofia, through the sponsorship of Prince Engr. (Dr.)  Arthur Ikpechukwu Eze OFR, who sponsored the Cassava Farm in Nawgu situated in 40 hectares of land. This was achieved just within few weeks of our administration. 

Dunukofia Solution Team has through the Ministry of Agriculture distributed coconut and palm seedlings, the latest of them is the just concluded second phase distribution of 28,000 seedlings of coconut and palm fruits seedlings, a policy of Mr. Governor to return agriculture as in the days of Chief (Dr) M. I. Okpala. 

Commerce, Industry and Trade: The current Administration of Prof. 

C. C. Soludo, has set out plans to build 3 Economic Mega City across the three Senatorial Districts of Anambra State. 

It will please us to announce to "Ndị be anyi" that the Anambra Central Senatorial District's own would be built on Dunukofia soil, between Ukpo, Ukwulu and Nawgu settlements, close to Enugu-Onitsha express way, about 1000 hectares of land. 

Culture, Entertainment and Aesthetics: For the first time in the history of Dunukofia Local Government creation, its anniversary was celebrated (despite a law mandating that the anniversary be celebrated every year) by the previous elected council members. The celebration was what can be described as the uniting of a people and the promotion of her culture and homogenity. 

The Silver Jubilee plus Celebration which was tagged Dunukofia @26 Silver Jubilee Plus Celebration was a huge success. 

To mark the week long event which has lots of activities, saw young Dunukofia footballers playing in the Dunukofia League Cup which was named (Dunukofia Unity Cup 2022). The Tournament was won by Umunnachi. The females also played volleyball competition, won by Ukpo and a beauty Pageant was organized which was won by Miss Akwue Mmesoma Francisca from Ukpo with winning prizes for both first, second and third positions. The grand finale was held on the 28th December 2022 cum the launching of the Dunukofia Unity Building Project.

Peace & Security: For the first time, a central Vigilante team was formed by which serves as the local police with the Community Vigilante Service,for the protection of lives and properties of Ụmụ Okofia. Dunukofia Strike Force, has so far in synergy with police and Community Vigilante Service, reduced crime within the Dunukofia Local Government Area.

Dunukofia Council Area has continued to enjoy internal peace without community crisis. This has fostered our working relationship with Ndi Igwe and President Generals of Town Unions in Dunukofia, strenghtening our homogeneity. 

For the first time in Dunukofia, a security summit was held in Dunukofia, where solutions were proffered on how best to secure the Dunukofia people and their properties. Dunukofia is doing extra in the creation of Village Vigilante Services it's an extension, Nkwelle Umunnachi is an example.

Operation Clean and Green Dunukofia: The greatest challenge of this administration is waste management and evacuation, but that is the most touched area where we paid utmost attention. 

Every sanitation day which holds every last Saturday of the month, the  My team and I supervised the sanitation and enforce it within Afor-igwe and Ifitedunu (Oye Agụ)  axis of the Old Enugu-Onitsha Express way. 

Tippers are stationed for the exercise, to help in evacuation of refuse dumps during the clean up days and once every week. 

We barricaded the Ugwu-Dunukofia refuse dump close to St. Anthony's Catholic Church Umudioka and the dump Close to Igwe Ezechi Road Ifitedunu. All are now clean and Green.

Lots of palliative works have been done in Dunukofia roads, and culverts built. Also some notable roads have been included in the the second phase of road construction in Dunukofia, while Igwe Ezechi road that spans through Nkwo Ifitedunu is almost completed to help decongest the ever-busy Ifitedunu Junction. We also took palliative measures to a falling Ali Nawgu bridge, including reconstruction of a collapse fence at the LG Secretariat. 

Just last Week, our partnership with NYSC Anambra State Chapter concluded a Medical Outreach for all the Six Dunukofia towns. 

Dunukofia Local Government Area Headquarters, Agụ Ukpo, is now wearing a new look courtesy of the Solution Team Dunukofia after it was re-painted. 

A 20kva and a moribund 40kva generator installed and repaired respectively,  Solar lights have been installed too which now generate lights for the Local Government Headquarters. 

Ụmụnne m ndị Dunukofia, in just One Year of this administration, we felt we have proven to be trustworthy and reliable. Dunukofia has witnessed immense transformation under our watch through  the JASDID Initiative and the super transformational agenda of Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo's promise of making Anambra State, a Liveable and Prosperous Homeland for Ndi Anambra, for which our Administration is localizing.

Therefore, we plead to Ndi Dunukofia to continue to support and assist the us, for we are much committed to delivering on our mandate and unite Dunukofia people the more, through JASDID "Maka na anyị bụ ụmụ nne." We are the only homogeneous local government in the entire Nigeria. It is a thing to be proud of. Like the Igbo would say: "Ngalakwesili Anyi bu Ndi Dunukofia!"
