Building Bankable Human Resource Through Equal Opportunity For All

It was J.F Kennedy that once said that: "All of us do not have equal talent, but all of us should have an equal opportunity to develop our talent."
To further explain the importance of having an equal opportunity for all, Nelson Mandela in one of his favourite quotes said, "During my lifetime, I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people. I have fought against white dominant and I have fought against black dominant. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It's an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it's an ideal for which I'm prepared to die for".
The equal opportunity model has since been adopted in Anambra by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, CFR. A model that has continued to provide equal platform and opportunity for every onye Anambra to showcase their talents and maximize potentials.
As the Governor will always say that Anambra is one state, one people, one agenda. This ideology has continued to manifest in his policies and programmes. Some of which is making Anambra a one big construction site where road construction is going on in every local government area of the state with emphasis on hard to reach areas. Providing free education for every Anambra child in public schools from kindergarten to JSS3. This policy of complete free education provides equal opportunity for both the children of the poor and that of the rich to compete without any higher advantage. Free antenatal and delivery service for pregnant women in Anambra is also another policy that promotes equal opportunity for all, giving pregnant women the opportunity to assess best healthcare services at no cost. This has drastically reduced the child mortality rate in the state.
The equal opportunity also played out in the over ten thousand direct jobs already created by the Soludo led administration where you don't need to know anyone in power to get employed, aside by merit which is open to everyone irrespective of your social status, tribe and state of origin.
The effect of providing equal opportunity for all especially that of free education is already being witnessed as Anambra ranks lowest on the number of out of school children in Nigeria with just 2.9 percent. It has also increased the number of pupils and students attending public schools as the quality of education obtained in public is now equivalent with what is obtained in private schools, if not better, given the recent recruitment of quality teachers which was based on merit.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo has made it that no section, group nor area will be marginalized in his one Anambra State, one people, one agenda ideology, hence the massive infrastructure development being witnessed in every local government area of the state.
In today's Anambra, communities otherwise forgotten by previous administrations like Olumbanasa in Anambra West local government area, Ikenga in Aguata, Awba-Ofemili in Awka North, Okpoko in Ogbaru, Nzam in Anambra West feels the impact of good governance and equal opportunity for all as they enjoy dividends of democracy as other parts of Anambra State.
Indeed, the power of equal opportunity for all in driving growth and development of any society cannot be overemphasized as the ideology has proven to be productive with regards to positive development and here in Anambra. It the Soludo model, a model that is expected to bring out Anambra's best talents and ensure effective allocation of resources for a greater tomorrow.
It's an idea that will give every child in Anambra a fair chance to reach the highest point to which his capacities, unassisted by special privilege of his own and unhindered by the special privilege of others.
Equal Opportunity For All is truly a driving force for positive growth and development. It is a force and a tool to reach the livable and prosperous Anambra state, which is the dream of Governor Chukwuma Soludo CFR.
