 ACHALLA ANCIENT KINGDOM GETS A NEW PRESIDENT GENERAL.


There was massive celebration in Achalla Community on Saturday, 23rd June 2022 as the indigenes people stood under the harsh weather to vote in Mr. Nnamdi Ikwunne (Lord Nacho) as the new President General of Achalla Development Union - home and abroad. This peaceful, free, fair and successful democratic exercise is coming after several years of Caretaker Transition Chairman leadership of the Union.


The people of Achalla Community both home and abroad came out in their numbers as never seen in their history to give massive supports to their choice candidates. This includes the traditional ruler who had to fly down from the America to lead hos people to a successful election.

It is important to note that Mr. Tonycollins Nwabunwanne , the Hon. Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs in his resolve to fulfill the mandate of Mr. Governor and to get it right at first instance took his time to extensively engage the traditional ruler of Achalla Kingdom, the Super Stakeholders of the community and the three very popular candidates in series of peace meetings before a generally acceptable modality and procedure was arrived at and adopted by all parties. 


As the "Anambra State Passionate Messenger of Peace, I was on ground as the representative of the Hon. Commissioner and also the returning officer of the election; I made sure that the election was perfectly executed to the cheers and appreciation of the people. 

It is also important to thank and appreciate the team from the Ministry of Local Government Chieftaincy and Community Affairs who were also very much on ground to observe the whole process. 

We must recognize the genuine efforts of the Achalla Electoral Committee.

ACHALLA KINGDOM is now peaceful to the Glory of God.

For those that wants peaceful town Union elections, I urge you all to take good look at the pictures and videos and see the rigorous processes involved and the sacrifices made before we match out on election day.
