SOLUDO: MR. GOVERNOR'S "62ND BIRTHDAY"

 Soludo: Mr Governor’s  “62 Birthday”

Today marks a special day in the life of a man whom I have come to love for his wisdom, depth in knowledge, simplicity and appreciable work ethics. A man who works deep late into the midnight every single day since he assumed office with an intent to give good governance and great service to ndi-Anambra. It is on a day like this, that all men of goodwill rise to salute the awesomeness of God's gift to the earth, graciously ndi-Anambra.

It is with elation and gratitude, that I write on this day. A day that marks the 62nd birthday of greatness, Governor Chukwuma Soludo. From the time I got to work closely with Governor Chukwuma Soludo -from the 2021 guber election period- I have wondered if he ever sleeps. Many times I come to conclusion that he hardly does. But even if he does, his brain stays awake and his thoughts aflame.

Remarkably, I do not expect a funfair display on this day given Governor Soludo's simple nature. Putting it succinctly, it is not in his nature to organize expensive events, to bring friends and well-wishers together for a mother of all birthday celebration. No! If there would be such gathering at his 62, it would be a coming together to “pray for him”, that God Almighty will continue to bless him with sound mind, wisdom and good health, and to maybe "thank him” as he continues to put smiles on the faces of those who have given up on government and his ability to provide governance.

Soludo’s 62nd birthday calls for a reflection of his boundless vision to move Anambra forward from the highly informal state to 'Everything, Everywhere Technology' . Yes! With the recent approval of the: 2022 Anambra Revised Budget and 100 billion naira loan request by the state House of Assembly members, many of his gigantic ideas of liveable and prosperous homeland will soon blossom into reality.

A retrospective look at Soludo’s administration shows that he meant well, possesses the will and have to come to serve. His foot prints louds his well equipped and well prepared stature. In recent times, he has inaugurated Board for the Anambra State Waste Management Authority charged with ensuring Anambra is the cleanest and most green state in Nigeria. He has kick-started a harmonized new Anambra digital tax collection across the state aimed at ending multi-taxation, extortion, touts and non-remittance of fund to government treasury.

Towards achieving a planned and sustainable cities, communities and markets, the government which has onerous task of Town planning regulation has embarked on the demolition of landed properties across Onitsha and environs for: encroachment on the right of way, built along the waterways, breaching the state’s physical planning laws and lack of approval from the relevant agencies.

With the 31% allocation of the total Revised Budget to road infrastructure, the Governor has declared state of emergency on Anambra roads and traffic management with 220km of roads ready for construction across the state. Yes! The new Administration has re-negotiated the contracts for Facility Management (cleaning services for government offices) down from N137 million per month to N11 million per month, with a savings of N126 million per month or N1.512 billion per annum. With the savings in one month, Soludo have fixed the dreaded Amansea-Ugwuoba road with its nightmarish logjam, the washout portion of federal road at Onitsha, and have change intervened in one other terrible spot at Amawbia.

I,n his 4 months in office as a Governor, Soludo has been restless and has defined himself as a man who cannot be afraid to take bold decisions as long as it was in the interest of ndi-Anambra. He has shown great determination, commitment and passion to change the face of Anambra for the best.

In securing Anambra state and connecting public, private and international investors into the seamless opportunities in the State, the Governor is fast returning peace to most communities, especially in the seven local governments of Anambra south and Ogbaru area council that were previously being under consistent attack by the tiny ratio of mindless criminals and anarchists who come in, in the guise of making their voice heard only to deceive our people. It is only peace that will move Anambra forward!

Governor Soludo’s plan in globalizing Anambra is an audacious one, this have seen him brought the entire world comprising the Diplomatic corps and Foreign Development Partners to Anambra state to understudy the state. Ndi-Anambra are confident that the strategic partnership will improve the living conditions of the people, especially hundreds of thousands of people trapped in Okpoko, and other adjoining slums in the State.

The bottom line is that, at 62, Governor Soludo has resolved over 15 community disputes which include re-instating 4 President General through the rule of law; resolved 11 community crises and successfully conducted 15 Town Union Elections and he is currently working tirelessly with his Solution Team to make Anambra state a better, secure, liveable and more prosperous homeland, and until that is achieved, he will not call for celebration on his birthdays.

In a nick if time, of the timeline of this administration, Governor Soludo’s vision and the will to do will soon blossom into reality.
