 ABAGANA TOWN UNION GETS A NEW PRESIDENT GENERAL.

...Engr. Ben Okongwu (Baba Otu) emerged winner!


In continuation of the Governor Soludo vision and mission to make Anambra a liveable and prosperous homeland with 'peace' at the front burner; Abagana town in Njikoka  local government area got a new elected president general on August 30th, 2022 after several years of "Caretaker" as a result of unresolvable Town Union Election imbroglio.

The Honorable Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs - Hon. Tonycollins Nwabunwanne who is the torchbearer of the Anambra communities peace drive once again displayed government's resolve to allow Ndi Anambra to choose their own leaders in a credible, free and fair election. 

The people of Abagana were full of joy and adjudged the election as the most transparent election they have ever had without impositions and intimidations from the community overlords and cabals.

My humble self (Anambra Peacemaker ✌️) was fully on ground to represent the Honorable Commissioner alongside some very diligent staff of the ministry. As usual, Mr. Commissioner in his usual manner was able to extract commitments and agreements from all the warring parties before our team set out to observe and witness the enthronement of a people's leadership in Abagana Town.

The election was fierce and the atmosphere was fully charged and quite apprehensive but at the end, the people's will prevailed because of the transparent democratic processes adopted that didn't give room to any form of malpractices or manipulations.

Abagana Town Union is now peacefully delivered to the Glory of God Almighty who makes all things possible. 

It is also very important to thank the members of the Nigeria Police, DSS, Anambra Vigilante Group and the press, for their professionalism in providing maximum security and coverage.

Ndi Anambra, if your community is having Town Union crisis or Chieftaincy crisis, bring the matter to the office of the commissioner and be rest assured that peace will be restored. Many communities have benefitted from the peace process, so come forward and be blessed. 

Mr. Governor has said it times without number that the days of Caretakers are gone and that every community must have elected Town Union Executives without any form of interference from anybody.
