The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South LGA,  Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi has eulogized the Otu Odu socio-cultural group (Ndi Iyom), Anambra State Chapter for showing solidarity and gratitude to the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for his adherence to the 35 percent  affirmative action to the womenfolk in his appointments.

She made this known when they paid her a courtesy visit at her office in the local govt council secretariat, Ojoto. Speaking further, Hon Obi told them that her appointment as the transition committee chairman of Idemili South is a support and empowerment to the female gender, hence she will never let the womenfolk down as she is not only representing Idemili south but Anambra women in entirety.


The council boss then solicited their support in sensitizing the masses on the need to clear all drainages in their communities to avoid flooding, also to alert the government on any security threats in their area.

The Otu Odu socio-cultural group in their vote of thanks by the leader of the group, Iyom Dr. Mrs Okeke, emphasized that they came to felicitate with the Transition Chairman, Hon. Amaka Obi popularly known as Iyom Idemili because she is the only woman appointed a local govt chairperson amongst men in the 21 local government Area. She assured her of their maximum support in her administration and that of the solution oriented governor for his support to the female gender.
