IBEZIM APPLAUDS CHURCHES FOR THEIR RESPONSES DURING CURRENT FLOODING IN THE STATE

 Ibezim Applauds Churches for their Responses During Current Flooding in the State

The Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has applauded churches in Anambra State, both Catholic, Anglican and Pentecostals for their kind response during the current flooding in parts of Nigeria, particularly in Anambra State.

Dr Ibezim made this known, during a diaconate ordination church service at St. Mark Anglican Church Umuawulu, Awka South LGA, on Sunday, October 23, 2022.

Mr Deputy Governor disclosed that the State Governor Prof Chukwuma Soludo has instructed the state government agencies to commence the post-flood rehabilitation process, stating that the assistance of the churches is needed, because, according to him, those returning to their homes from holding centres across the state, lost everything to the flood and will be needing both psychological and financial assistance.

Calling on the church members to take in those who have lost everything to the flood, that government will assist them during the period until every single person is properly resettled.

Earlier during the diaconate ordination church service, which saw Eight Reverends ordained Deacons, by the Archbishop of Ecclesiastes Province on the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Grace, Most Rev. Alexander Ibezim, PhD charged the congregation to assist the flood victims, emphasizing that there is a special case at Awba-ofemili, pleading on church members to extend helping hands to them.

The ordination attracted top government officials, traditional rulers and captains of industries, among whom are the MD/CEO of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Hon Chido Obidiegwu ,  HRH, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu of Umuawulu, Igwe Benneth Emeka, Okebo II of Umueri amongst others.
