SOUTH EAST GOVERNORS MEET IN ENUGU, CALL FOR POLITICAL SOLUTION TO NNAMDI KANU'S CASE

 South East Governors Meet in Enugu, Call for Political Solution to Nnamdi Kanu's Case

The Governors of five South East States, rising from an emergency meeting, have called for a political solution to the case of the incarcerated leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu offering to work with the federal government to settle the matter politically.

In a communique released by the forum soon after the Closed-door meeting at Government House Enugu, on Sunday, October 30, 2022 the chairman of the forum and Ebonyi state Governor, Engr David Umahi, stated that the five South East States of Anambra, Abia,  Enugu, Ebonyi and Imo, will pull resources together to set up joint security patrol in the region.

The communique regretted the loss of lives and deteriorating economic activities occasioned by the insecurity that has enveloped the region in the last few years.

Assuring that, from 1st December 2022 there will be joint security patrol on highways in the five states, with the hope of strengthening security of lives and property in the region.

The communique further denied report insinuating that, the South East Governors have any hand in the formation of Eastern Security Network,(ESN) reiterating that they only formed Ebubeagu security network.

In attendance at Lion Building Enugu are the host, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, David Umahi, Ebonyi, Chairman of the forum, and Okezie Ikpezu of Abia State.

 Anambra State Governor, was represented by the Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, while  Imo State Deputy Prof. Placid Njoku, stood in for the Governor.
