 SOLUDO INAUGURATES ROAD TRAFFIC VOLUNTEERS FOR FREE FLOW OF TRAFFIC DURING CHRISTMAS SEASON

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo CFR, in an effort to find solution to the perennial road congestion experienced during festive seasons in some major junctions in the state,  has inaugurated the Anambra State Road Traffic Volunteers to ensure free flow of traffic during the busy Christmas season.

Mr Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim while inaugurating the volunteers from 21 Local Government Areas, at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, on Thursday, December 22, 2022  informed them that it will be a serious business, adding that there are red spots that have been Identified for 24 hours road dicongestaion and traffic management.

He noted that, the state has structures on traffic management,  however, needed the volunteers to assist in road decongestion during the busy Christmas season, assuring that the internal roads where traffic can be diverted have received attention from the TC Chairpersons, whom the governor has   directed to do palliatives on some of the roads to ease traffic.

The volunteers, according to Mr Deputy Governor, will be drilled on traffic management and good conduct, to ensure synergy with existing road traffic management agencies.

Those present during the Inauguration include, Special Adviser on Security, AVM, Ben Chiobi, RTD. MD Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency ( ARTMA)  Emeka Konti Komplete Okonkwo and other top government officials, including TC Chairpersons of Dunukofia, Anaocha, Awka North among others.
