CHIEF SUNDAY EZEOFOR EMERGES AS THE IGWE ELECT OF UMUONA COMMUNITY.

By Mike Okechukwu.

Following the recent withdrawal of the Certificate of Recognition of the dethroned Igwe of Umuona by the government of Anambra State, the ancient kingdom of Umuona Community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra South Senatorial Zone has unanimously voted for Ozor Chief Sunday Ezeofor (Okpataozuoha na Umuona) as the new Igwe-Elect after a very peaceful election that saw the other contestants step down for his emergence.

The election which was monitored by staff of the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs has been adjudged by the good people of Umuona as a very credible and transparent exercise.

The Town Union executives and entire people of Umuona Community were thrown in joyful celebration and they thanked Mr. Commissioner - Hon. Tonycollins Nwabunwanne  and Mr. Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for restoring peace and order in their community.

Chief Okpataozuora as he is fondly called by his people is a well respected man and has vast experience in leadership and community development. He pledged to handle Umuona affairs with the fear of God and also promised to reconcile all warring factions with his vast knowledge of the customs and traditions of Umuona.

The highlight of the election was when the contestants all stepped down for him as a man they have confidence in and believe that he will be a great king because of his peaceful nature.

The Solution Governor has continued to take leadership to the grassroots by ensuring that the choice of the masses is respected at all times.

Congratulations to the people of Umuona Ancient Kingdom... Peace has returned.

Ekenem.

The Peacemaker ✌️
