 Skill Acquisition: Idemili South Council Chairman, Obi, flags off training for youths and women

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Council Area, Hon Obi Amaka Iyom, on Friday flagged off the second phase of the skill acquisition training programme for youths and women in Idemili South. 


The training programme tagged “Sklls Acquisition Training programme for youth's and women” which would benefit over 200 young and adults, is being facilitated through the office of Transition Committee Chairman of the Council Area.

Declaring the training open, Hon Amaka Obi urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the programme to reintegrate into the society and better their lives. 



She further addressed the trainees and their resource persons in their respective groups, took a tour of the groups to see their respective section/departments and what they had made after the flag off of the programme.


She expressed joy over the seriousness the beneficiaries were attaching to the programme and promised to continue to assist them even after it had been concluded.


She noted that there will be an evaluation and monitoring exercise after the training, to measure progress made by beneficiaries.


The beneficiaries would be trained in catering, hair dressing, makeup, fashion and design, Head gear, Nylon production and ICT.



In their respective remarks, the community women leader of Alor Mrs Grace Uche Nwoye and her Nnobi counterpart Lady Ifeyinwa Nnekwulugo thanked the Local Government Chairman, Amaka Obi, for facilitating the programme called on the beneficiaries to make maximum use of the training as there is need for diversification in other to improve standard of living as well as the economy of the State.


Others who attended the flag off were the Local Government Committee Team, Ward Councilors, community women leaders of Ojoto and Oba, Mrs Anthonia Okonkwo and Mrs Chizoba Ngozi Onwuka amongst others.
