 PRESS RELEASE, FROM THE OFFICE OF THE CHAIRMAN DUNUKOFIA LGA

RE- A CASE OF IMPERSONATION OF OFFICE BY ONE CHUKWUDI RAPHAEL ANENE, A CONDUCT LIKELY TO CAUSE TOTAL BREAK DOWN OF LAW AND ORDER, AND BREACH OF PEACE IN IFITEDUNU TOWN.

My office has received a letter on the above subject matter dated 31st July, 2023. Impersonating the office of the President General of any Town Union is totally against the Anambra State law, and thwarting the peace of any community is highly prohibited and must not be tolerated in Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo's led State Government.



The process of becoming President General of any Town Union in Anambra State must include but not limited to;

a) a written letter of notification to the State Government for an election,

b) getting an approval letter from the State Government,

c) getting the office of the LG Chairman to monitor the election proper as approved by the State Government,

d) duly returned by a returning officer at end of the poll

e) issuance of certificate of recognition from the State Government.


Eg. My office monitored Town Union elections in Ukwulu, Umunnachi, Nawgu where their current President Generals emerged.


My office has not and can never recognize anybody parading himself as the President General of any community without going through the above outlined process.


With the above explanations, I deem it feat to make the following statements;


1. That, my office is not aware of any change in Ifitedunu Town Union Government. 


2. That, Chief Uchenna Micheal Nwoye is the current serving President General of Ifitedunu Town Union officially known to my office, having been duly recognized and issued a certificate of recognition by the Anambra State Government.


3. That, Mr. Chukwudi Raphael Anene is hereby ordered henceforth to cease from impersonating the office of the President General and desist from parading himself as the President General of Ifitedunu Town Union.


4. That, Mr. Chukwudi Raphael Anene is ordered to urgently vacate the office of the President General of Ifitedunu Town Union and also together with his cohorts distance themselves from the Ifitedunu Civic Centre within 48 hours. 


5. That, if Mr. Chukwudi Raphael Anene fails to comply with the above given orders, it will be considered as an affront against the Government of the day, led by Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, and he will have the State Government to contend with.


I'm assuring the good and homogeneous people of Dunukofia, especially Ifitedunu community that there is no cause for alarm. My administration is ever committed in localizing the solution agenda in the council area and as such has no room for distraction and pettiness.
