EZEOKENWA URGES MEDIA TO UPHOLD FAIRNESS AND BALANCE IN REPORTAGE.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, has urged the media to uphold the principles of fairness and balance in their reportage.

Ezeokenwa made the call when the Nigerian Union of Journalists paid him a courtesy call at the APGA Regional Secretariat in Awka.

Ezeokenwa acknowledged the significant role that journalists play in shaping public opinion and emphasized the need for responsible journalism.

The National Chairman highlighted the importance of presenting objective and accurate information to the public. He emphasized that unbiased reporting is crucial for maintaining a healthy democracy and ensuring informed decision-making among citizens.

Ezeokenwa called on journalists to focus on factual reporting, avoiding sensationalism and distortion of facts. He stressed that the media has the power to shape public perception and influence public policies, and therefore it is essential for journalists to exercise their duty responsibly.

Ezeokenwa expressed his belief that the media should act as a watchdog, holding those in power accountable. He urged journalists to uncover corruption, expose wrongdoing, and ensure transparency in governance. By doing so, the media can act as a catalyst for progress and promote societal development.

The National Chairman of APGA also encouraged journalists to give equal attention to different perspectives and provide a platform for diverse voices to be heard. He emphasized the importance of inclusivity and fair representation in media coverage, acknowledging that this can contribute to a more balanced and pluralistic society.
