ANTI-TOUTING: TO ALL “TOUTS” YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED IN ANAMBRA

ANTI-TOUTING: TO ALL “TOUTS” YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED IN ANAMBRA

By Izuchukwu Adichie

Soludo understood the feelings of the people when during the gubernatorial campaign, they made a major request which was for him to end the menace of touts/agberos around the commercial hubs; ensure sanity in our roads and public places, make shopping and movements in the state pleasurable and Onitsha metropolitan to be great again. Like ‘touting’, Soludo has won the biggest war against criminal elements that took over the seven (7) local governments in the Anambra South and Ogbaru LG, and today, nightlife has returned in the major cities across the state.

For Soludo, the menace of touting must be a forgotten story in the state, Onitsha urban center must rise back again to its past glory when it was known as a serene environment and shopping in our commercial hubs and movements must become pleasurable. We must ride off touts/agberos just as we collectively won a war against criminals in the state. This must be everyone’s business - Ndi Anambra including our visitors, market leaders, security formations, town unions, and the church must come together, and continue to push for the prosperity of our state.

Now that war, a real war has formally been declared against touting with the official launch of the “Special Anti-Touting Squad”, equipped with modern security technologies and buses for smooth operation, and emergency hotlines:

released to the public to report activities of touting or anyone known to be a tout, it is now our responsibility to stamp out lawlessness and disorderliness in the state. It is a war we must win to bring our commercial centers back to life, as we know, we cannot achieve a prosperous and liveable homeland if we cannot bring sanity, and maintain law and order in our state. For the touts, their days are now numbered!

May Anambra continue to win, Amen!
