Since Soludo assumed office, the 18-month “Goomenti Umuogbenye” has been fundamental in making sure that the poor will not only breathe but also walk and run. He feels and understands the challenges being suffered by the vulnerable and today, for the first time in the history of this state, he is bringing a quality healthcare system to the people of Ogbaru, Ayamelum, Onitsha South, and Anambra West by building brand-new general hospitals. Apart from employing 800 health personnel, and rebuilding and upgrading our hospitals to meet modern standards which include introducing telemedicine, our public health centers will soon be lightened up by solar-powered lights.
Soludo has established social safety to protect vulnerable citizens with his policy of one million economic coconut and palm fruit seedlings to all families, the N2 Billion seed capital to 5,000 youths who successfully trained in various skills, and also the 20,000 youth trained in the Solution Innovation District. This administration is drastically tackling poverty by investing in education -rebuilding, upgrading, and equipping public schools, recruiting and training 5,000 teachers and an additional 3,000 teachers in ongoing recruitment, access to qualitative education, and for the first time, offering free education that is truly free.
Additionally, apart from being committed to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability to tackle the mismanagement of public funds, this administration has digitized its tax collection and abolished the collection of taxes for low-income earners, petty traders, hawkers, and Okada rides, introduced a policy of free antenatal and free delivery for all pregnant mothers and well, tackling the menace of touts with the formal launch of an anti-touting squad to ensure zero touting in our markets, parks, and public places across the state. This “Goomenti Umuogbenye” would continue to do the right thing to end the pains Ndi Anambra is experiencing.
