When one hears the phrase "Changing Gears," what immediately comes to mind? During my driving lessons, I was instructed on the fundamental principle of gear shifting. As the vehicle accelerates, there comes a juncture when the first gear can no longer keep up; this is usually indicated by flooring the gas pedal and increased engine noise. Once it reaches an audible crescendo, it is typically advisable to shift up to the next gear.
