Kaduna, Kaduna - The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, today attended a democracy summit organized by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at the Arewa House in Kaduna. The theme of the summit was "Solid Political Party Structure: Critical to the Sustainability of the Democratic Process," with a sub-theme discussing the concept of political parties as "Molue, Tuke-tuke, Bolikaja or Spys Inimical to Political Leadership."

Barr. Ezeokenwa, represented by Alhaji Sarduana Yero Elleman, APGA National Vice Chairman, North West, expressed deep appreciation to the National Chairman of the ADC, Chief Ralph Nwosu, for convening such an essential political discourse at this crucial time. Chief Ralph Nwosu in his address said, "Our goal with this summit is to foster a deeper understanding of the importance of a solid political party structure in ensuring a sustainable democratic process. We must move beyond traditional paradigms and recognize the vital role that well-organized political parties play in nurturing democracy."

The APGA National Chairman, in his address, highlighted the indispensable role of political parties in fostering a robust democracy. He stated, "In a democracy, political parties are not just institutions; they are the lifeblood of the political landscape. They play a pivotal role in channeling public opinion. Our society is diverse, with a wide array of views and interests. A strong political party structure ensures these voices are captured and represented effectively in our political discourse, promoting inclusive governance and a government reflective of the people's will."

The summit underscored the critical need for political parties to transcend beyond basic operational frameworks and strive towards embodying the true essence of democratic values and principles. It was emphasized that only through cohesive and well-structured political party systems can the democratic process be fortified and sustained.

In attendance were prominent figures from various political backgrounds, including the National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Alhaji Yusuf Dantalle; the National Financial Secretary of APGA; the APGA State Chairman of Kaduna State; the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alhaji Shehu Gaban; the National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Ajuji Ahmed; and the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barr.
