 Health ministry partners private healthcare givers to end maternal mortality By Chukwudi Nwauba  Anambra State Government through the State Ministry of Health is partnering with the Private healthcare givers across the state to end maternal mortality. Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike said that Gov. Charles Soludo’s led administration is adopting a holistic approach to end the maternal mortality in the state. Dr. Obidike said this during a maternal mortality review meeting with private care givers at the Ministry of Health Conference Hall, Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka. ``Since the creation of the state, this is the first time such meeting is being organised and we are already making progress with the necessary support from the state government to end this death among women during delivery. ``We want to review causes of death during delivery, after delivery, which is actually part of the governor’s health mandate of ensuring that Ndi Anambra receive quality care. ``The essenc

 Government reiterates commitment in commencing Emergency Medical, Ambulance Services  By Chukwudi Nwauba Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike says the state government is fully committed to the commencement of the National Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System (NEMSAS) in the state. "Anambra is one of the six selected states that will start the National Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System. ``This NEMSAS when commenced will help to reduce mortality rate as well as provide timely healthcare service delivery to the people.” Dr. Obidike said this when the Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Health paid him a familiarization visit in his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.
