 2023 Children's Day: Students, Pupils Mark Children Day With March Past, Cultural Dance In Idemili South Council Area By Emmy Young  Children’s Day is a day recognized to celebrate children - Amaka Obi It is celebrated across the world though on various calendar dates in different countries. In Nigeria, Children’s Day is celebrated on May 27. It was established as a holiday in 1964, and it is a public holiday for primary and secondary school pupil's.  In commemorating this year’s day, the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Council Area, Hon Obi Amaka Iyom, said investing in our future means investing in our children.  She made this known at the 2023 Children's Day Celebration held at Idemili South Local Government Headquarters, Ojoto. In her Children’s Day address, Hon Amaka said: “As we mark Children’s Day, I join millions of parents, guardians and care givers across the country to celebrate our children, our future and unique gifts from God.” She further said

 Ward Based Medical Outreach: Hundreds benefit from free medical outreach in Idemili South Council Area. By Emmy Young  Idemili South Local Government has flagged off a Health Initiative tagged “Ward–Based Medical Outreach”. The event, which was the first of its kind in the area, took place at the Council Headquarters Ojoto is in collaboration with the Anambra State Ministry of Health, Idemili South Local Government and Anambra State Primary Health Care  Development Agency. Over 400  elderly men, women, youths, children and indigent ones turned out to benefit from the free medical outreach who received free testing, blood pressure checks, eye checks, blood sugar checks, HIV testing, free medical drugs and free binoculars and other services. Many of the beneficiaries, who spoke with newsmen, commended Gov Chukwuma Soludo for the wonderful gesture. Dr Ibezim, gave this assurance during a  meeting of APGA Awka South stakeholders, at Trig Point Hotel, Nibo, on Sunday May 14, 2023.
