In Nigeria, Children’s Day is celebrated on May 27. It was established as a holiday in 1964, and it is a public holiday for primary and secondary school pupil's. In commemorating this year’s day, the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Council Area, Hon Obi Amaka Iyom, said investing in our future means investing in our children. She made this known at the 2023 Children's Day Celebration held at Idemili South Local Government Headquarters, Ojoto. In her Children’s Day address, Hon Amaka said: “As we mark Children’s Day, I join millions of parents, guardians and care givers across the country to celebrate our children, our future and unique gifts from God.” She further said
