 Skill Acquisition: Idemili South Council Chairman, Obi, flags off training for youths and women  By Emmy Young  The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Council Area, Hon Obi Amaka Iyom, on Friday flagged off the second phase of the skill acquisition training programme for youths and women in Idemili South.  The training programme tagged “Sklls Acquisition Training programme for youth's and women” which would benefit over 200 young and adults, is being facilitated through the office of Transition Committee Chairman of the Council Area. Declaring the training open, Hon Amaka Obi urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the programme to reintegrate into the society and better their lives.  She further addressed the trainees and their resource persons in their respective groups, took a tour of the groups to see their respective section/departments and what they had made after the flag off of the programme. Following the recent withdrawal of the Certificate of Recognition of the dethroned Igwe of Umuona by the government of Anambra State, the ancient kingdom of Umuona Community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra South Senatorial Zone has unanimously voted for Ozor Chief Sunday Ezeofor (Okpataozuoha na Umuona) as the new Igwe-Elect after a very peaceful election that saw the other contestants step down for his emergence.  Don’t Leave Politics For Older Generations, Amaka Obi Tells Youths  By Emmy Young  The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Council Area, Hon Obi Amaka Iyom has urged the youths to participate actively in the State and Nigeria’s politics. Hon Amaka Obi who doubles as the Convener Women Initiative For Greater (WIGA) and Member Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) in the State, said gone were the days politics was left for the old generation. Ready To Tackle Revenue leakages, All Manner of Financial Misconducts The Anaocha LGA Revenue Committee led by Mrs Obianyo Chigozie has commenced visitations to markets on Sensitization and revenue drive. The group visited some of the major markets in the communities, where they found out some question­able transactions and diver­sion of revenues meant for the government into different pockets. They noticed that mar­ket leaders are collecting levies from the traders  but the money were not remitted to the government. They promised to sanitize the system including overpayments, revenue leakages, and all manner of financial misconducts in the local government.  Growing insecurity in Idemili South Local Government, Nnobi Community raises economic concern ......Unveils New Security Outfit Nnobi community in Idemili South council area has  floated a security outfit geared towards checkmating the increasing wave of crime in the town.  The security outfit, among other things, will maintain strong relationship with security agencies in neighboring communities to ensure maximum maintenance of law and order and report their day to day activities to the Nigeria Police Force and the town union of the community.  The traditional ruler of Nnobi, Igwe Nick Obi, who unveiled the outfit, said there was need to keep the security of the community intact as it soon growing into a commercial hub. ANAMBRA STATE PHYSICAL PLANNING Removes Structure Sitting On Drainage Channels In a bid to sustain the Solution Mantra of a prosperous, livable and smart homeland. The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government, Hon Amaka Obi has led the team of State Joint Task Force to remove illegal Structures sitting on drainage channel at Alor community by the Anambra State Physical Planning Board.  The Agency said that the illegal structures constitute a lot of problem in the society such as building structures on the top of drainage channels.  Speaking to the newsmen Hon Amaka Obi called on the community President Generals (PGs) to checkmate this ugly situation, which according to her will wreak havoc and affect the free flow of water in the area.
